The Puno region in southeastern Peru is well known for its rich cultural history, particularly among the indigenous populations residing near Lake Titicaca, the world’s highest navigable lake. We will start by visiting the floating islands of the Uros, where you can explore 2 to 3 islands and enjoy free time for photos. Afterward, we will continue towards Amantani Island, where we will head to local rural homes for lunch and take part in a walk across the island, eventually ascending to the stunning viewpoint of Apu Pachatata. In the evening, you will have the opportunity to enjoy a traditional Peña show, engaging with the local community and other visitors. This journey offers an immersive experience into the rich culture and breathtaking landscapes of the Uros and Amantani Islands.
The tour includes pickup service from your hotel in Puno, private transportation to and from the Port of Puno, a motorboat ride with a toilet and comfortable seating, a professional bilingual guide, meals on Amantani and Taquile Islands, entrance fees to the Uros Floating Islands, Amantani Island, and Taquile Island, and an overnight stay in a rural homestead on Amantani Island. Additionally, snacks, drinks, and a reed boat ride on the Uros Floating Islands (for an extra fee) are included.
It is recommended to bring comfortable walking shoes, a hat, sunscreen, a camera, and warm clothing for cooler temperatures, especially in the evenings. Don’t forget any personal items you may need for an overnight stay.
